Interrupted and Disrupted

and I forgot the title that I KNEW was awesome

During the process of scanning images for my memoir, I find many of them suit the criteria I have for “fucked up film stills.”

Ever since the 1970s, my collaborators (usually Pleasant Gehman and Belinda Carlisle) and I set up shots meant to look like film stills and fashion shoots for non-existent films and fashion magazines. Fucked Up Film Stills is one of the components of my REtroSPECT: 50 YEARS OF PHOTOS exhibits/exploding print inevitable circus. There’s folder on my desktop for a soon-to-be-published chapbook of Fucked Up Film Stills.

The image above is of my friend Arish Khan, a Canadian-Indian garage punk artist who is half of King Khan and BBQ Show and is the frontman of King Khan and The Shrines. During the summer and fall of 2005, we crossed paths many times and were in Los Angeles when we made these photos.

You may recognize this one where he’s stretched out on a couch; it is one of the inner sleeve/CD booklet pictures for the album WHAT’S FOR DINNER by King Khan and BBQ Show.

ANYWAY - I digressed, as one does; “one” being me… onwards -

While I was cleaning up the scan, I thought of a fabulous title for the two frames and then my phone rang, and I answered the call (I hate the ringing) before I could write the title down - and I thought it was good enough to remember despite distractions.

but no.

Anyway - these film stills hint at an R rating, but a few others on this roll of film are of Arish posing like Sharon Stone in the Paul Verhoeven film BASIC INSTINCT, and they’re truly FUCKED UP FILM STILLS and absolutely X rated.

But these shots for which I’ve forgotten the clever title are just naughty and playful. Arish is demonstrating where he does his best thinking for songwriting, and is using the nearest bit of paper to write down a lyric.

SO — what is title for these images that has escaped me???? Please suggest some - and maybe one of the suggestions will trigger my memory. I know many of you readers out there and I are frequently on the same page.
