The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Inductees have been announced.
I am overjoyed that Cyndi Lauper has finally been recognized.
This is a photo from 1980 of Cyndi with the band she fronted at that time, Blue Angel.
Now that The Music Establishment has paid Cyndi the recognition that fans and worldwide audiences already have, I wonder if the album she made with Blue Angel will be available again (yes, I have the OG 1980 release) after its short-lived reissue circa 2005 (I have looked for it; I wanted you to hear it; it is “no longer available” at all the usual outlets; Wikipedia was wrong. go figure). If so, people without turntables will be able to listen to her while they’re on the move. In the meantime, please enjoy this clip I found on YouTube uploaded by some fan in the ether, but you will have to visit YouTube itself to hear it as it cannot be played outside of YouTube for whatever reason. This song, “I Had A Love” is an appropriate showcase for her torch singer chops.
Girl knew how to have fun!
It's long been on my list of items I want to find in the wild, but I never do. I do intend to write an essay on Time After Time at some point, which is probably among my 10 favorite songs of all time.
Wow, I never knew this. Gave the video a listen. Do you know what happened to the band members?
